Osteoarthritis, also known as arthritis or degenerative joint disease, is incredibly common among felines. While it’s impossible to determine the exact number of cats living with osteoarthritis, studies estimate 40% of cats are affected by some form of arthritis. These numbers increase as cats age, with an estimated 90% of senior pets being affected by some form of the condition.

Degenerative joint disease can be very painful and living with untreated osteoarthritis can severely impact your cat’s quality of life and may lead to issues such as joint pain, difficulty moving, reduced appetite, and fatigue.
If your cat has been living with osteoarthritis, you know the pain and frustration that comes with the condition, but there is hope your cat will be able to improve and regain their quality of life.

We’re happy to announce Solensia for cats is available for prescription at Companion Animal Medical Centre.

What is Solensia For Cats?

Solensia is a once a month prescription injection administered by a veterinarian and the first and only FDA approved medication for cats who have been diagnosed with osteoarthritis.

Solensia works by controlling the symptoms of osteoarthritis and reducing pain signals in your cat’s body, which can provide pain relief, increase mobility, and improve your cat’s overall quality of life.
In clinical studies, over 70% of cat owners noticed an improvement in their cat’s osteoarthritis after their cat was prescribed Solensia.
